Aviation Insurance FAQ: When will I receive my quote?

Wednesday, January 8th, 2014

Reasons to fly vary from pilot to pilot. Some are currently involved in an aviation career or working towards one. Some enjoy how aviation makes the world around them shrink, traveling to new destinations at any moment they get. Others enjoy the view from above flying near their airport on beautiful mornings. The aircraft used in these situations vary just as much as the pilots do; as will their insurance quotation and how quickly it will be received.

Agents at Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR) believe strongly in providing service with integrity, to whomever contacts us. There are two types of quotations we provide: initial (new business) quotes and renewal quotes for current customers. All of our agents are pilots so we understand your aviation insurance needs. Aviation is not just an industry we work in; it is a passion we live every day.

If you’re new to AIR, it is helpful to have some information handy on initial contact. First being aircraft information, such as N#, make and model, and the hull value you are considering. Next, flying history on the pilots that will be flying the aircraft is needed. This includes full names, age, and ratings. An estimate of flight times, specifically, total time and time in the make and model of aircraft being insured and time flown in the last 12 months will also be requested.

Many aircraft with experienced pilots can be quoted the same day or within 24 hours. If it is a more complex or commercial risk it may take longer, specifically during the holidays or on weekends. AIR works with ALL the major aviation insurance markets (currently about 15). It can take time to obtain answers back from every market so that we can provide you aircraft insurance at the lowest cost and broadest coverage available. However, your agent will keep you abreast of recent updates on your file along the way.

For policies currently insured through AIR In order to obtain the best terms available for renewal, we get to work 90 days prior to your expiration date. This all starts when we send out a renewal update form to the insured. The renewal update form is quick and easy, it can be completed online within a matter of minutes with the pilot’s logbook handy.

With recent pilot information from the renewal update form, your AIR agent sets out to obtain quotes from all the markets that will provide a competitive quote for your coverage needs. About 30 days prior to the policy expiration date, you will receive your renewal quote. If you have any changes, questions, or concerns, contact your AIR agent immediately and they will be more than happy to assist.

Aviation Insurance Resources is pleased to accept checks, credit cards, and on larger premiums a premium financing plan is available. Save time…save money…call us first. One call to AIR gives you access to all major markets. Our professionals are waiting to guide you through the insurance process.

AIR offers a wide range of aircraft insurance options for aircraft of all makes and models, from experimental aircraft to standard aircraft, such as Cessna Aircraft, Beechcraft, and Cirrus Aircraft to Robinson Helicopters, builders risk insurance, renter pilots and Corporate Aircraft.  AIR also provides commercial insurance for Flight Schools, FBOs Charter operators, Maintenance shops, hangars, and workers comp and NEW UAV insurance.  AIR works with ALL the major aviation insurance markets and can help you find aircraft insurance discounts.

Fly Safe this Winter and Earn Aircraft Insurance Discounts

Wednesday, November 27th, 2013

As the holiday travel season approaches, the Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR) family would like to wish yours a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Many of us will be travelling via general aviation to visit our loved ones, let’s remind one another of our personal limitations and to not feel pressured to meet typical holiday timelines when facing wintery weather.

Flying safe can often lead to helpful discounts on your aircraft insurance! For example, some carriers offer up to 5% off non-owned coverage for those that complete a WINGS – Pilot Proficiency Program phase prior to their renewal. Others offer discounts on owned aircraft policies when a WINGS phase or annual recognized training is completed. Aircraft organizations such as EAA and AOPA offer many training materials for a pilot to keep refreshed. By simply being a member of these organizations you can gain access to special perks and discounts on your insurance policy.

Thanks to an exclusive partnership with Starr Aviation, Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR) now offers members of the OpenAirplane Network up to 10% in savings on their renters insurance!  A 5% discount is available for pilots who have completed the OpenAirplane Universal Pilot Checkout. Simply provide your insurance agent with a copy of the OpenAirplane Universal Pilot Checkout prior to binding coverage to receive your discount. Pilots that are claim free will receive an additional 5% discount resulting in a total of 10% in savings!

This Thanksgiving, we are thankful for the gift of general aviation to transport us to those we love, as well as the gift of pilot training that keeps us safe. Happy Thanksgiving from AIR!

AIR offers a wide range of aircraft insurance options for aircraft of all makes and models, from experimental aircraft to standard aircraft, such as Cessna Aircraft, Beechcraft, and Cirrus Aircraft to Robinson Helicopters, builders risk insurance, and Corporate Aircraft.

Recapping EAA AirVenture 2013 from Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Thursday, August 15th, 2013

EAA AirVentureAnother year has come and gone and another successful EAA AirVenture is in the books. More than 500,000 attendees and more than 10,000 aircraft from more than 60 countries flocked to Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to gaze upon the 2,341 show planes, visit the record 821 commercial exhibitors, and enjoy the numerous shows.

“People come to Oshkosh for their own individual reasons, and there was a nearly unlimited supply of unique experiences throughout the grounds,” said EAA Chairman Jack Pelton. “We also received reports that many exhibitors had record sales, showing renewed optimism and enthusiasm in the aviation community.”

As one of those exhibitors, we can assure you that we had a great time in Oshkosh!

“This year’s Oshkosh had the best weather ever,” said Chris Wolbert, Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR) vice president. “It was great to get out and view the latest products and services available.”

The AIR crew even got to sit down and reminisce with Herbie from Herbie’s Acee Deucee Bar, a historic neighbor bar in Oshkosh now in its 3rd generation of ownership. Acee Deucee has hosted Jimmy Leeward, Danny Clisham and the other Airshow performers for over 30 years.

Herbie recalled the first time he met Jimmy. The performer called down at 1 am for some pizza and drinks to be sent up to the Pioneer Inn. Everything else in town was closed, but Herbie hooked Jimmy up with some pizza and beverages. The following year, Jimmy and the other Airshow performers started coming to the Acee Duecee. Herbie would keep the bar open for them every night during EAA AirVenture.

A legend was born.

And that was just the beginning or AIR’s adventures in Oshkosh. AIR regional manager Jon Shimer had the opportunity to perform with Greg Koontz, who has been performing in airshows since 1974.

“I was privileged to perform in the comedy routine with Greg Koontz on Thursday,” recalled Jon.

It gets harder and harder to leave Oshkosh every year. Now we have to wait almost an entire year for EAA AirVenture 2014. We can’t wait!

“There are some big aviation anniversaries next year, including the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I and the 75th anniversary of the jet engine,” said Pelton. “In addition, volunteers will build an airplane in seven days with the ‘One-Week Wonder’ project in which attendees can participate. And, of course, there will be plenty of additions for activities that can happen only at Oshkosh.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Oshkosh, WI – July 30, 2013 – Year after year, friends come back to EAA AirVenture to share their love for aviation. Some friends have just started in this new tradition and others have been doing it since AirVenture’s inception.

Our friends Jeff “Rocco” Emanuel and Jeff Barrette have been a staple at Oshkosh for many years and never leave without paying a visit to Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR) in Building A, Booth 1141. Dubbed the “AIR-Bros” by their friends at AIR, the hangar chat quickly turned to a lasting friendship. Later, the two best friends would become AIR’s favorite ad on the back cover of Aviators Hot Line.

While discussing how many insurance companies often focus on free hats and giveaways instead of quality customer service, AIR remembered one of their favorite photos of the AIR-Bros wearing hats donned with collectable windsocks and pins. This fun photo quickly became a new backdrop at their Oshkosh booth and a new ad.

Following a fun-filled autograph session on Monday, the AIR-Bros have agreed to return to the AIR booth on Wednesday, July 31st at 11:30AM for a second session. Stop by the AIR booth in Building A, #1141. Everyone is welcome and free copies of Aviators Hot Line will be available for the Bros to sign.
