Mexican Liability Insurance Policies from Aviation Insurance Resources

November 30th, 2012

Did you know that while most aviation insurance policies include Mexico in their coverage, Mexican regulation requires a third-party liability policy be purchased from a Mexican-based insurance agency? Failing to comply with these requirements could result in heavy fines or even the impounding of your aircraft.

Fortunately, Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR) can help!

Through our partnership with MacAfee and Edwards, AIR can set you up with a Mexican liability insurance policy. MacAfee and Edwards is a Surplus Line Insurance Broker specializing in ALL LINES OF INSURANCE FOR MEXICO.

“While the air and space industry is a technological leader, it has fallen behind most other industries when it comes to social advancements. It is iWOAW’s mission to lead the industry to not only catch up but also surpass other industries in that sector,” said Mireille Goyer, Founder of the Institute for Women Of Aviation Worldwide.

Today, in an era where the percentage of female doctors, lawyers, and police officers is on the rise, around 25%, the percentage of female pilots remains relatively low, around 6%. iWOAW is leading the shift to a more diverse air and space industry where men and women will thrive in harmony and parity!

Aviation Insurance & Aircraft Valuation: Do you have enough Coverage?

November 2nd, 2012

How do you know you are making a good investment when you are buying an aircraft? Unfortunately, aircraft are not the solid investment they once were, with many not holding the value they have in the past. Because of this, it is important to thoroughly research an aircraft’s value before buying or selling a plane.

Furthermore, it is important to know an aircraft’s value when refinancing an aircraft loan or purchasing aircraft insurance.

  • Underinsuring an Aircraft: If you do not have the right amount of coverage for your aircraft, you are essentially gambling. You are betting that your aircraft doesn’t sustain damage. When an under insured aircraft experiences a loss, it can lead to “constructive total loss.” This is when the cost to repair the aircraft plus potential salvage value exceeds its insured hull value.
  • Over Insuring an Aircraft: When over insuring an aircraft, you are simply spending more for coverage than needed.

As you can clearly see, knowing the correct value when insuring your aircraft is invaluable!

The Solution: A free aircraft valuation from Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR).

AIR is now offering aircraft owners, like yourself, a free and easy way to calculate an accurate hull value for your plane, allowing you to obtain the right amount of insurance coverage. With AIR’s new aircraft valuation package you will receive:

1. A free Bluebook basic valuation for standard aircraft.

2. 20% off title search and filing services.

3. Quotations solicited from all the major underwriters that would be most competitive for the type of flying you do.

These services are only available if you request a free quote. So what are you waiting for?

Please click here and fill out the form to request a FREE blue book valuation from Aviation Insurance Resources. And if you have any questions, you can contact us by calling 877-247-7767 or visit AIR-PROS.com today!

Update: Flight award winner, Toni Michaelson

October 25th, 2012

The trees are changing colors and the elections are coming near, both make for an interesting flight. Aviation Insurance Resources’ 2012 Women Fly it Forward flight award winner, Toni Michaelson, is quickly adding up hours in her logbook.

“While preparing to take off this morning in Frederick (having earlier been given special restrictions as to where we could fly today due to the president being at Camp David), we saw his five helicopters fly right over us as the president makes his way to Florida today. The other photo is us flying a few minutes later outside the restricted air space of DC. These were both pretty awesome sights to see, from the ground and the air.”

Aircraft Builder’s Risk Insurance: Is Your Aircraft Project Protected?

October 11th, 2012

Building or restoring an aircraft can be a fun and rewarding hobby. After all, nothing beats the feeling of someday flying your very own creation. But building/restoring an aircraft is also a lot of work, requiring both time and dedication. And between the hours of hard work and tough choices you will have to make, insurance coverage typically gets forgotten or ignored.

But what happens if disaster – flooding, theft, vandalism, etc. – strikes? Are you covered? Unfortunately, probably not…

Luckily, Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR) has the answer! We recently unveiled our new builders and restorers insurance program, designed to protect the aircraft during the building or restoring stage regardless of pilot experience and qualifications. Customized with your needs in mind, this new insurance plan offers flexible liability and hull coverage options.

“As a friend of many aircraft builders and as a homebuilt owner myself, I can only imagine the devastation of losing an aircraft mid-build,” said Jon Harden, president and founder of AIR. “Our affordable program is worth it just for the peace of mind.”
