Is Your Aircraft Insurance Policy Below Industry Standards? –Part 3

Wednesday, July 9th, 2014

We invite you to explore your options in aviation insurance. Direct aircraft insurance writer, AVEMCO, promotes that they are the only insurance carrier to provide coverage in the event of a loss when an individual’s medical, flight review or aircraft annual has lapsed.  In fact, most insurance companies that Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR) represents cover this type of loss.

Most pilots are responsible, detail oriented people who maintain currency on their flight review,  medical certificate (if required) and annual inspection.  However, sometimes in our busy lifestyles time gets away from us and it may be easy for that end of the month responsibility to quickly pass by. It is important to remember that whenever you sign an aircraft insurance application with any company including AVEMCO  you are attesting to the terms and conditions on that application. In most cases, that also includes your currency at that point in time. If you are not current at the time of signing make sure you note that on your application so you are not attesting to something that is not a true statement.

We are pilots and aircraft owners and don’t believe in “gotchyas!” or surprise loopholes in aircraft policies. If you have a concern, we can address this with you upfront before binding coverage. Open your eyes to a better value!

To see if your policy is up to industry standards, please contact Aviation Insurance Resources by calling 877-247-7767 or visit AIR-PROS.com today and receive your aircraft insurance quote! You can also follow us on FacebookTwitterLinkedIn, and Google+.

Is Your Aircraft Insurance Policy Below Industry Standards?

Wednesday, June 25th, 2014

We invite you to explore your options in aviation insurance.  You don’t have to limit yourself to one direct writer of insurance such as AVEMCO.  Broader coverage is available to you today!

The fact is, if your policy is written on a “per person” instead of a “per passenger” basis, you have below the industry standard in coverage!  The majority of insurance companies today write their policies on a “per passenger” policy form.  Over recent times, aviation insurance policies have favored more “inclusive” language at affordable premiums thanks to increased competition.  Insurance companies have had to increase policy benefits at competitive prices-Great news for the aircraft owner!

However, as they say, “Buyer Beware!”  There are still some old fashion insurance companies that feel they can get by with a “per person” policy limit banking on the consumer simply looking at the bottom line price.  The truth is, superior coverage is readily available at surprisingly competitive premiums!

Aviation Insurance Resources is an industry leading aviation insurance agency that has access to all the major aviation insurance markets.  All of our agents are pilots so we understand the aviation industry’s needs. We strive to provide the best policy at the best premium in every situation.

To see if your policy is up to industry standards, please contact Aviation Insurance Resources by calling 877-247-7767 or visit AIR-PROS.com today and receive a free Aircraft insurance quote! You can also follow us on FacebookTwitterLinkedIn, and Google+.

It’s No Surprise – Increased Limits are Available for Flying Club Insurance

Friday, May 9th, 2014

Many pilots believe aircraft ownership is only a dream, but then find that they can not only make that dream come true, but do so in a cost effective way: Through a flying club. When someone buys a share in a flying club, the annual aircraft costs are distributed amongst the group, resulting in less out of pocket expenses and more time in the air for the pilot.

It is not a surprise that one of the most important costs of flying clubs is insurance. Typically, due to the nature of risk that flying clubs present to the insurance industry, only a certain level of liability limits are available. Recently, a major organization has announced their ability to offer increased liability limits in flying club insurance. This, in fact, is no surprise to the aviation insurance industry, and something that the knowledgeable agents at AIR have been offering for years and are delighted to offer to flying clubs.

Most flying club insurance policies offer a $1,000,000 combined single limit property damage and bodily injury limit with a $100,000 per passenger sublimit. Sometimes, flying clubs are interested in higher limits but find that they are not always available through their current insurance policy. While higher limits sometimes cannot be offered through the flying club insurance policy, higher limits for an individual member of the flying club can be achieved through ‘stacked limits’.

Higher liability limits are available to individual members of the flying club by establishing individual a non-owned aircraft policy. This affordable policy will be “stacked” upon the main flying club insurance policy offering extra limits for that individual.

Flying Club Insurance from Aviation Insurance Resources

At AIR, we provide a full range of aircraft insurance and aviation insurance products, including Flying Club Insurance. We pride ourselves on finding the insurance policy that best meets the needs of ALL of your members, no matter the size of the club or the type of aircraft. AIR agents believe in serving your flying clubs needs with integrity, by informing the club of all the necessary options to cover your insurance risk. AIR will work diligently to find a flying club insurance policy that offers increased limits or will inform the club if we determine that stacked limits are the best route. AIR represents all of the major aviation insurance markets, so it is no surprise that we offer the broadest package of protection at the best available rates.

Cardinal Flyers Online Migrates South

Friday, April 11th, 2014

Joe Ruck (Native Floridian) recently returned home from Los Angeles back to the Sunshine State.  The highlight of the trip was an evening with the folks from Cardinal Flyers Online (CFO), which is a group of Cessna Cardinal owners and pilots approximately 3,500 members strong.  The evening event was held at the home of a CFO member in Winter Haven, Florida.  This same CFO member has hosted this annual event for the past several years.  This year approximately 50 Cardinal owners attended.

CFO typically gathers at Lakeland each spring for Sun N Fun, then Oshkosh, Wisconsin the last week of July, and a Cardinal fly-in somewhere in the USA each year.  Past fly-ins have included destinations such as Santa Maria, California (Wine Country), Death Valley, Bowling Green, Kentucky (Corvette Museum), Williamsport, PA (Lycoming factory), and Wichita, KS to visit the Cessna factory and celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Cessna Cardinal.

More about Cardinal Flyers Online

Started simply as an email digest in 1997 which went online in 1998, CFO quickly grew in size becoming an incredible resource sharing all sorts of subjects of  Cardinal wisdom with fellow Cessna Cardinal owners. CFO fly-ins began in 1999 and in 2000 they became an official organization which you can join for a $34 per year membership.

CFO is managed by Keith and Debbie Peterson.  Paul Milner runs the CFO digest.  CFO membership information can be obtained by contacting Debbie Peterson at [email protected]

CFO and Aviation Insurance Resources

Fly Safe this Winter and Earn Aircraft Insurance Discounts

Wednesday, November 27th, 2013

As the holiday travel season approaches, the Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR) family would like to wish yours a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Many of us will be travelling via general aviation to visit our loved ones, let’s remind one another of our personal limitations and to not feel pressured to meet typical holiday timelines when facing wintery weather.

Flying safe can often lead to helpful discounts on your aircraft insurance! For example, some carriers offer up to 5% off non-owned coverage for those that complete a WINGS – Pilot Proficiency Program phase prior to their renewal. Others offer discounts on owned aircraft policies when a WINGS phase or annual recognized training is completed. Aircraft organizations such as EAA and AOPA offer many training materials for a pilot to keep refreshed. By simply being a member of these organizations you can gain access to special perks and discounts on your insurance policy.

Thanks to an exclusive partnership with Starr Aviation, Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR) now offers members of the OpenAirplane Network up to 10% in savings on their renters insurance!  A 5% discount is available for pilots who have completed the OpenAirplane Universal Pilot Checkout. Simply provide your insurance agent with a copy of the OpenAirplane Universal Pilot Checkout prior to binding coverage to receive your discount. Pilots that are claim free will receive an additional 5% discount resulting in a total of 10% in savings!

This Thanksgiving, we are thankful for the gift of general aviation to transport us to those we love, as well as the gift of pilot training that keeps us safe. Happy Thanksgiving from AIR!

AIR offers a wide range of aircraft insurance options for aircraft of all makes and models, from experimental aircraft to standard aircraft, such as Cessna Aircraft, Beechcraft, and Cirrus Aircraft to Robinson Helicopters, builders risk insurance, and Corporate Aircraft.

Robin was one of six aircraft, all Cirrus model SR20s and SR22s, to make the annual journey to Alaska. This annual trip is the inspiration of Luke Lysen, founder of The Flight Academy, who spent several summers in Alaska in his late teens and early twenties.

Flying with Pets

Friday, August 9th, 2013

Flying with PetsYou already know that Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR) offers a wide range of aircraft insurance options for aircraft of all makes and models, from Cessna Aircraft, Beechcraft, and Cirrus Aircraft to Robinson Helicopters, Piper Cubs, and Corporate Aircraft. But did you also know we are aviation enthusiasts ourselves? The AIR family enjoys getting out there and soaring the open skies. Sometimes we even bring our favorite four-legged friends along for the ride!

AIR’s own Victoria Neuville has been seen flying on several occasions with her spaniel mix, Turbo, and pet hedgehog, Quillson. Below are Victoria’s accounts of two of those flights.

Turbo’s Big Day

“The flight started out of Frederick around 12:30,” remembered Victoria. “We had a 38 knot direct headwind most of the way. Crossing over the mountains we could see lenticular clouds to our west and experienced many updrafts and it became quite choppy. It was clear most of the flight until we encountered some snow about 20 miles out from our destination. We were quickly through it, however, and landed at Braxton County Airport (48I) in West Virginia.”

It was at this airport that Victoria first laid eyes on her new puppy. Victoria was greeted by two male puppies, one brown and one white, from Dustin’s Angels pet rescue. As Victoria remembers, the people from Dustin’s Angels thought it was “so cool” that one of their puppies was being rescued by plane.

After picking her puppy, a dog that would soon be named Turbo, and signing the contract it was time to take some photos and head back to Turbo’s new home.

“My first intention when adopting a puppy was to slowly get them used to the aircraft, but to avoid a 3 1/2 hour drive, the flight was worth it,” explained Victoria. “As it turns out, Turbo did fantastic. He perked up and looked around when the plane started but slept a majority of the time.” Calming support from cbd dog treats from Holistapet can make travel even smoother for pets adjusting to new experiences.

After several more flights with Turbo, Victoria designed her very own “Emergency Bag,” with everything she would need in case of an animal accident in the aircraft. To build your own emergency bag, read Victoria’s personal blog, “’Emergency Bags’ for Flying Fidos.”

Flying with PetsA Hedgehog Takes Flight

During the weekend of Victoria’s Uncle Tom’s 60th birthday, the family took a quick, half hour flight to Smoketown, Pennsylvania. Uncle Tom and his family were insistent that Victoria bring her pet hedgehog, Quillson. Victoria agreed to bring her prickly pet along and, much to her surprise, Quillson really enjoyed flying.

“He did not roll up into a protective ball, he did not huff to scare the airplane away,” remembered Victoria. “In fact, he explored and enjoyed being out of the box and feeling the gentle vibrations of the plane.”

Both of Victoria’s pets have flown in Cessna and Glasair aircraft insured by AIR.
